Maria Kjær Themsen is the art editor at Dagbladet Information, and works as a freelance curator, writer and lecturer.

Maria Kjær Themsen has written about contemporary art since the early 2000s, and her writing has been published in Flash Art, frieze, Artforum, kunstkritik.dk among others. She has edited several books, and is the author of the critically acclaimed Touched - about Danish art in the new millennium, Strandberg's (2020).

Themsen has curated numerous exhibitions, both in Denmark and internationally. Her work earned her the prestigious Bikubensfonden's Vision Award in 2020, leading to the creation of the ambitious exhibition Soil.Sickness.Society at Kunsthal Rønnebæksholm.

In 2023, she was honored as Art Critic of the Year in DK by the AICA Foundation.
